The AC Milan Academy Camp
also known as Milan Junior Camp (MJC)
is the children's summer vacation soccer camp organized by the famous AC Milan
football club from
the Italian Serie A League and carried out by local organizations
(Sporteventi is the selected soccer camp manager).

The soccer training sessions, depending on your site, will be lead by AC
Milan soccer legends, in cooperation with Sporteventi coaches, such as Pierino Prati (Manager of one AC Milan
top Soccer School in Milan), Gino Maldera (Manager of one AC Milan top Soccer School
in Milan), Fulvio Florin and Filippo Galli (AC Milan Youth Department Manager, see photos with
Ancelotti,
Tassoti and David
Beckham during AC Milan practices at Milanello training center in
Milan) known as
the
AC Milan supervisors
and supervised by Otello Di Remigio, official youth scout of AC Milan
Youth teams and Sporteventi coach.

The person in charge of all Sporteventi coaches is Otello Di
Remigio, an official scout for
AC Milan Youth Side;
he is also in charge of the relations between the youth teams that the
club “Liventina Gorghense” coordinates (more than 20) and the AC Milan
Youth side.
The camp is not a soccer camp full of rigid training
exercises, nor is it designed to immediately produce champions. It is a
soccer camp designed for having fun and playing with the other boys, a soccer camp spent learning to respect each other
and learn new skills.
It is an important time to stimulate soccer players sense of
responsibility and to learn the important value of rules and education.
Last year (2010) the Milan Junior Camp welcomed more
than 700 campers during 9 weeks:
600 from Italy, 200 from 30 different
countries and in particular: USA, CANADA, UK, JORDAN, KUWAIT,
SAUDI ARABIA, EMIRATES, JAPAN, CROATIA, SLOVENIA, GERMANY, GREECE,
RUSSIA, INDIA, MEXICO, and LEBANON.
The soccer camp provides one of the
most prestigious coaching staff of
Italy and some of the most
famous and exclusive sites of Italy (Jesolo and Vittorio Veneto)
and Europe, as Cortina
D’Ampezzo is known worldwide.
The soccer camp has a
large number of Italian players (more than 80% on average)
AC Milan prized the
2007 Milan Junior Camp of Cortina as:

Players Scouted in the past at the Milan Junior Camps:
Kingsley, Zigoni and Kandikjan
Gianmarco Zigoni attended the MJC of Cortina in
2004.
At the moment he is the forward of the U19 AC Milan Team (Primavera) and
he has just joined many time the first team. Also he’s just joined the
U19 Italian National team.
Boateng Kingsley attended the MJC of Cortina in 2004-2005-2006;
at the moment he is the forward of the U16 AC Milan Team (Allievi
Nazionali).
Tigran Kandikjan, at the moment, the goalkeeper of the
Macedonian U-17 national team, attended the camp in 2006 in Vittorio
Veneto.

“BERLUSCONI’S TROPHY” AND MILAN JUNIOR CAMP DAY
Each participants taking part in the Milan Junior
camp, will be given a free ticket to the prestigious “Trofeo Berlusconi”
match, AC Milan vs. Juventus Turin, that usually takes place in the
middle of August as an opener for the Italian football season (the date
for the game is usually available at the end of July ).
In every camp session, the AC Milan supervisors will
choose one or two 10 year old boys (2001). The players
selected will be able to take part in the Milan Junior Camp Day,
the three day meeting of the best participants in all
Milan Junior Camps worldwide, which will take place, around September -
October 2011, at the Vismara – Milan Sport Center.
Vismara is the sport centre where all AC Milan youth teams side
train (the first team and the Primavera (U19) team train at
Milanello).
There should be about 200 class’01, 10 years old boys,
who will play each other in friendly games all day
long, while watched attentively by AC Milan Youth side’s talent
scouts. Afterwards they will be taken to the San Siro
stadium for a Milan home game and some of them might be able to
meet some first team players after the game.
Considering that over 700 boys signed up in 2010, Sporteventi
was able to admit to the MJC DAY – 2009 about 30
10 years old boys (of the class’01).
NB. The date for the MJC DAY will be announced as soon as
known but NOT before the end of July 2011.
Also, at each camp, the AC Milan supervisors will
choose one or two 9-10 year old boys (2000-2001). They will be able to take
part in the Milan Junior Camp Day, the Two days meeting of the best
players in all Milan Junior Camps worldwide, which will take place,
presumably in the fall 2011, at the Vismara – Milan Sport Center.
Vismara is the sport center where all AC Milan youth teams side train
(the first team and the Primavera (U19) team train at Milanello instead).

The children arrive at their camp on Sunday around
12:30pm. They are immediately assigned an
Adidas-Milan kit,
so they can arrive properly fitted out on the field for their first
afternoon training. This training is mainly to introduce them to their
coaches and give them their first instructions on the rules of the camp
and the behavior expected of them.
On Friday evening, the last evening in camp, there is a party with parents
where they can see the videocassette made
during the week.
Copies of the video are available at a modest price onsite.
Saturday morning is the final intramural tournament; the camp ends at noon
after certificates of participation are
distributed, along with cups and medals awarded to
players and teams who exhibited exceptional skills on the individual and group
levels.
Finally a special fair-play award is given to the camper
who has shown the best game and team behavior.

A typical program for the MJC includes two training
sessions per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each
session is two hours long. The rest of the day is taken up by
entertainment and recreational activities (TV room, group play, karaoke,
minigolf, ice skating when possible, swimming when possible, etc.)
During the
weekend (for children staying more than one week), there are no practices,
only rest time.
Your typical Monday to Friday schedule
(subject to change):
08.00: wake up
08.30: breakfast
09.30: field (technical training)
11.30: shower and return to the hotel
12.30: lunch
13.30: free time for games, play,

19.30: dinner
20.30: evening entertainment (or at
the field*)
22.30: lights out
* Schedules for beach areas such as Jesolo
may provide for evening training due to the hot weather during the summer.
Those afternoons the group may go to the beach.

Training on the soccer field is agreed upon between the
Responsible Manager and the
AC Milan supervisors present, based on the
guidelines set down by the supervisor.

Campers are divided into groups based mainly on age,
physical growth, and finally technical ability, which is decided the first
day upon their arrival at the camp (Sunday afternoon).
There will be a special goalkeeper session during each
camp. (Special Goalkeeper
Milan Kit too!)

Main age groups are:
7 to 8 year old
9 to 11 year old
12 to 16 year old
Following is a brief description of the type of
training done by each group:
 |
|
|
Mainly working with the ball (guiding
the ball, dribbling, shots on goal) |
 |
9-11 year:
|
|
Working with the ball and technical-tactical work
(working 3 against 2 or 2 against 1, zone or man defense, movements
without the ball) |
 |
|
|
Mainly all aspects of technical-tactical work |

The morning is usually devoted to technical stations; afternoons are used for squad or individual tournaments
(drives, shoot outs, penalty kicks, etc.). As a general rule, physical work is suspended on
Wednesday afternoons to give campers time to recuperate from their hard
work. "Recuperation" often occurs in a pool,
whenever the town or hotel offers adequate installations.

The camp requires
a doctor's medical certificate (no older than a year) attesting that
the participant is physically able to participate fully in all
sports and social activities during the camp.
All Italian camps are taught in Italian only, however, a few
coaches speak some English during each session .
For many years, we have participants coming from all over the world and
a lot of them do not speak Italian but accommodate very well to the camp
as there is no language barrier.

Airport/Train
Transfer Information:
MJC provides a negotiated transfer service with a
private transportation
company from Venice International Airport to the
camps. All transfers must be pre-arranged. After collecting their luggage, students
proceed through customs. Students are then met by a
representative of the transportation company who will be
displaying a prominent sign with the student name on it.
The
transportation company has an agreement with Sporteventi (the
local organizer) to
provide transportation to and from Marco Polo Venice Airport.
