INTRODUCTION:

The official training soccer camp site of the FC Girondins of Bordeaux (6 times France National Champions, former club of the great Zinedine Zidane and France midfield superstar player Yoann Gourcuff) became in more than 25 years an international reference in soccer camps. Cap Girondins Soccer Camps is approved by the French Department of Sports. This Soccer Camp accommodates each year 2,500 boys, licensed in club from 7 to 16 years old included (Players born between January 1, 1995 and December 31, 2004). More than 50,000 players have been thru the Cap Girondins soccer camps over the past 20 years, one of them is the famous goalkeeper from Parma in the Italian Serie A, Sébastien Frey.

There is a consequent representation of other European countries, Africa and America. This diversity contributes largely to the soccer and cultural richness of Cap Girondins Soccer Camp.

If a game is playing at Bordeaux stadium with the PRO during your session, you will be invited for FREE to see the game. Sometimes, based on their schedule, some of the Bordeaux PRO players stop at the camp after their training session for a half hour of questions and answers with the Cap Girondins Soccer Campers, that's an excellent opportunity to find out what is needed to become a PRO player or what is life as a PRO soccer player in France.

This Soccer Program is only designed for those who play soccer in a soccer club and have a license in a club.

The camp has a large number of French players (more than 90% on average)

CAMP SITE:

Each camper will be training at "Le Haillan" International Training Center site (access map) where the Professional players of Bordeaux FC have their practices. (You will practice on the fields next to them when they are present). Every week, all the soccer campers go meet with the professional team for a magic and unforgettable picture meeting moment (based on players availability during the session).

Soccer campers will stay in bungalows of 8 or rooms of 4 and a roomed per age bracket. Bathroom with showers are located in each bungalows.

The ratio Staff / Players is about 1/12-15

CAMP DAILY ACTIVITIES:

You will play on the field next to the Bordeaux Professional players practice session when they have their practices. The soccer course will be comprehensive, covering all elements of the game including techniques, skills, phases of play, small sided games, and full 11 v 11 games for some of the older players. All participants will be expected to take an active role in this element, so it is advised that students have a good level of fitness before they attend. On the first day, groups are established based on age and ability. Soccer Campers will have on average between 5 to 6 hours of soccer per day.

Airport/Train Transfer Information:

Cap Girondins provides a transfer service in minivans from Bordeaux International (BOD) Airport or Bordeaux train station to Le Haillan International Training Center. This service is FREE. Participants need to arrive at Bordeaux airport between 15:00 and 17:00 on Sunday and need to depart Bordeaux airport between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon on Saturday. All transfers must be pre-arranged. After collecting their luggage, students proceed through customs. Students are then met by a representative of Cap Girondins, in the baggage area, who will be displaying a prominent sign or T-shirt. From here students will be transported to their residential centre. Average journey time to and from the center is 15 minutes.

It is of vital importance that all necessary flight/train details are sent to Soccer Camps International with the booking form or as soon as available. Cap Girondins requires the exact flight information, including dates, airlines, Arrival and departure terminal, flight numbers and flight times. This service must be booked no later than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course.

All the France camps are taught in French only with a vast majority of French participants, however, a few coaches speak some basic English. For many years, we have participants coming from all over the world and a lot of them do not speak French but accommodate well at the camp.

Mandatory French Law Requirement for Sports Camps in France:

The camp requires, on the first day of the camp, a doctor's medical certificate attesting that the participant is physically able to participate fully in all sports activities during the camp.
